Really,
First, I did not see those attributions on the original post. I am left the question as to why you then removed the text to the post? It is usually best to admit a mistake and learn from it, and do it better next time. It is much less complicated, we all learn something and we all make mistakes. This internet is a developing form of media, we are still learning and we are all human.
As to your personal accomplishments and your suppositions about me, these have nothing to do with the subject. You are just using the logical fallacy of an appeal to authority. Personally, I think it is great you were able to grapple with, and roll around on the floor with other guys. Even though I have the screen name of Freshwrestler (it is a longish story having to do with psychosis, Colfax Ave. and a bloodied shaved head.) I have never done that. It looks like it would hurt to much. And as for flying in awesome planes while serving in the Air Force, I am sure this took an amazing amount of training, skill and dedication. Good on you for that. But it is not relevant. To generally say that your service in the USAF made you an expert in reproductive issues or technical writing doesn't make any sense unless you cite specific training in these areas.
And finally it is Ms. Freshwreslter to you. The irony of you trying to use gender as a put down, in a post about reproductive issues, is just too rich. I am not hiding behind a pseudonym. Again it is really not relevant to the arguments. It is supposed to be about the the ideas.

Dear Mrs. "Fresh Wrestler",
Here's the original text; note the attribution, included in the original. Unlike the cowardly "Mrs. Fresh Wrestler", as a Man, former wrestler, Air Force Academy graduate, and fighter pilot, I'm not afraid to use my real name.
According to the culture of death crowd leader Nancy Pelosi, birth control will stimulate the economy by “reducing costs”. (1) After hearing about this this morning, I thought it prudent to advise you that your Congress critters are preparing to spend $850 Billion, most of which hasn’t been printed yet, and none of which will come from anyone other than you readers. Among the trash laden wasteful spending is Section 5004 which “includes language that smuggles the left’s social agenda into law under the guise of stimulus. This section undercuts parental authority, increases control over taxpayer dollars by family planning clinics, and expands exactly who is eligible to receive the benefits. Contrary to current law, the income of parents or even a spouse would not be counted in determining eligibility. So a child in a family at any income level could be eligible for free family planning services. And thanks to a “presumptive eligibility period” in the legislation, no parent ever needs to be notified that his or her child applied for Medicaid. Finally, applicants would not have to prove citizenship before “presumptive eligibility” is determined.” (2)

Penny why must you try to make yourself seam tough and elite every time someone questions your article this is the second time I have read this same entry-
"as a Man, former wrestler, Air Force Academy graduate, and fighter pilot, I'm not afraid to use my real name."
You also seam to like calling everyone "Mrs." regardless of their gender.
Can you get anymore childish and immature? I say, grow up and stay on topic or come get in the ring with me and put you’re wrestling skills on the line against a real fighting skill Muay Thai kickboxing.

I see now the text has been removed. I should have been more direct. This article, when it had the text, was lifted from the Heritage Foundation web site and this needs to be addressed. Plagiarism is stealing, intellectual theft. Address this now, let all your contributors know this is not accepted. We do have to have standards if this is going to count for anything beyond a bunch of crappy chatter.

First when you lift an entire paragraph, word for word, from someone else's work, you attribute it to that person or source. Otherwise you are plagiarizing. Maybe by placing a quotation mark at the start of the lifted section you intended to close the quotation and then attribute it. Real sloppy, almost like stealing directly from the Heritage Foundation and not a "Standard" that represents journalism and hopefully not an Alaskan Standard.
Second, health care for people really pisses off conservatives, doesn't it?
NOBODY wants anybody to have to get an abortion and almost everybody gets that.(a majority of Americans) Of course the exception are those who are continually using this issue for political gain.
Family planning PREVENTS abortions. Planning ahead is a good thing. Like planning to attribute a source in a story. In the reality-based world people realize that people are going to have sex, it is what happens. I want people to have access to health care and contraceptives if they choose, regardless. In the long run we all save money and grief.

I will tell you, many have lost their souls in Afghanistan both liberals and conservatives so please do not try and say it was conservatives that liberated women from the Taliban. I do understand you are trying to say that #2 on your list of favorite presidents George Bush was the master mind of the War, therefore he should get all the credit; however, I find your premise to be a bit contradicting from your trademark claim of conservatism, considering the lack of fiscal discipline within 8 years of what I deem “America stuck in the Bush”.

"danfagan" should learn how Afghan women are as persecuted today as they ever were prior to the U.S. invasion. The women of Afghanistan are not liberated.

The Alaska Standard promises its readers neutrality. Where is it?
Here's what this site pledges on its "About Us" page:

Hey Shooty,
Let's try something for fun. How about instead of putting down this site in which you are always on participating with, how about you counter some of the arguments of some of the contributors. Try it, you might enjoy it more than always talking about how you hate this website that you read religiously.

Are you kidding Dan? I can not believe you try to belittle anyone who has a different viewpoint than you. I find that Shooty presents very clear and relevant facts to the forum; in fact the post above could not be clearer to me, so I will ask you the same question- How in the hell can you accuse the A.D.N. and every other mainstream media outlet of being bias when you are the most bias media organization on the planet. My god how much more transparent can your blasphemy be? Did you reinvent the word bias or do you choose not to understand the word represents a one sided view no matter your affiliation.
To say this site has no Agenda and gives both sides of the story is one of the biggest fabrications I have ever encountered.

I view the world through a conservative prism. All I am is asking for the mainstream media to admit they see the world from the perspective of a leftist. We all see the world differently.

I'm a very good reader. Reading this site takes very little effort by me.
I don't hate this site. I just await the day it lives up to its promise of neutrality, of not pursuing an agenda, and of showing both sides of a story.
From the looks of things, that day is far, far off.

Here I was thinking this was about Texas and Capital Punishment...I guess sanctity of life only applies in some cases.

"..I want people to have access to health care and contraceptives if they choose, regardless."
Men can't afford contraceptives? Don't think so.
"People" is a broader word than "men".
I think some conservatives admire the Taliban's ruthless domination of women.
let's see. If men took responsibility and bought contraceptives and used them, then there would be no problem for the woman would there.
Men are "people" too.
Think before you shoot there shooty. You come across as a chauvinist hiding in drag by talking about the Taliban.
It's the conservatives that liberated women from the Taliban.

This is debated? Really?
What did we expect?
Sanity? Rational? Logic?
Read the agenda on http://www.whitehouse.gov, if that does not shock, I don't know what will.
There is nothing new in the lib agenda, just a continued attempt towards a socialist state.

I'm not seeing both sides. Unless by "both sides" this site means the views of both the pro-life community as well as the anti-choice community.
This site is guilty of exactly what it (wrongly) accuses the Anchorage Daily News of doing.
